May is one of the best times of the year to visit Las Vegas. Winter is in the rear view mirror and the extreme Vegas temperatures is a couple of months ahead. Enjoy the dry, warm sunshine and clear blue skies bestowed on Las Vegas this time of year.
A few exciting things happen in an around the city in May. The month starts off with Cinco de Mayo and is a great time to celebrate Mexican culture and history with great food and cerveza. The Electric Daisy Carnival comes to town mid-May and the month ends with Memorial Day festivities.
World Series of Poker kicks off in May every year and attracts big fish from all over the world. This grand event also attracts quite a few celebrities, trying their luck for the fun of it.
Overall, nothing over the top happens in May in Las Vegas. Since summer is approaching, the days have become much longer and you'll have a total of 14 hours of daylight to enjoy per day. It's a great vacation month, beautiful weather to sightsee, relax by the pool and work on that tan or take a trip to Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon.
