Le Reve, which means “The Dream” in French, is one of the most spectacular shows on the Las Vegas Strip. Inspired by Pablo Picasso's 1932 masterpiece with the same name, Le Reve is a fluid sequence of vignettes constructed through one woman's slumber.
The Le Reve show opens with a woman on a bed that begins to descend into the water when she falls asleep. From there the audience follows her through a kaleidoscope of thoughts and ideas. Some dreams are bright; some are dark; and some can even be considered sexual or controversial. The story is told in a unique fashion, using aerial-acrobatics, synchronized swimming, high diving acts and choreographed dancers.
Adding to the allure of Le Reve is the element of water. Water consumes the stage and in many instances becomes the stage. The ever-shifting stage rises and falls from the water creating different spaces and platforms for the performers to dance, cavort, swim, dive and interact with the audience. Le Reve also offers a slice of comedy to the show with four “angels” who appear and re-appear throughout the show with humorous gags that are mostly mimed.
Performers seem to drip from the theaters ceiling, the lighting bleeds every color of the rainbow and even the most delicate scenes posses powerful imagery. You will be impressed by the calming blue lighting and peaceful water fountains and the simple amazement of human ability.
Le Reve show custom built theater-in-the-round offers every audience member an incredible view of the performance. With the furthest seat only twelve metres from the stage, every seat is the best seat in the house so you won't miss a single amazing aquatic acrobatic feat. Seats at the Wynn theater rise above a 1-million gallon tank that allows performers to enter and exit from both sea and sky. The theater itself houses 1,606 seats, but no one is more than 12 rows up from the water.
Eighty-seven performers from 17 different countries make up the stunning and dynamic cast of Le Rêve. The combination of state-of-the-art lighting and serene water effects make Le Rêve one of the most beautiful and artistic shows to date.
