Search brand lists by event, categories and beyond.Familiarize yourself with retail terminology and abbreviations. No one expects you know what Augmented reality or ATS mean but you should know what UPT or Bundled pricing mean.
Plan your orders and try not to cancel them. Have your OTB (open to buy) ready. Be prepared to write your orders at the time of your visit. Although, it is best to mark all orders with “hold for confirmation”. Confirm your order with the vendor within one week. Take photographs of what you buy. This makes it easier to remember your buys and to share with your staff. Get the vendors permission before snapping photos. Always ask yourself the reason you are buying. Don’t buy only because of price or brand name. Don’t forget you are the buyer. Take charge and don’t let anyone sell you something that is not right for your store. You will always be buying for 3 seasons at the same time.

Network with other MAGIC attendees to share experiences
Like any veteran visitor will tell you, no one comes to Vegas to spend time in their hotel room. Explore the city that never sleeps. Las Vegas is a premier hospitality destination with tons of things to do and see. Take a walk along the Strip, see a show or simply pig-out at a buffet. One or two of those is vital to having a positive show experience. Just remember, What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.
By Day 3 you'll discover you have placed a lot of orders, collected a lot of business cards and promotional items. Your work actually starts when you get back home. Follow up right away with your new vendors while all the information is fresh in your head. Do not wait a month to make contact.
Make sure you have received digital line sheets you requested. Review pictures and orders with your sales team. Go through and edit your orders. Eliminate anything that: Is a style repeated by two different vendors (just pick one).Disclaimer
