Mardi Gras in Las Vegas 2021 - COVID19 Update
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming Mardi Gras in Las Vegas celebrations in Las Vegas will be a bit different from what tourists and locals are used to.
Expect a multi-layered set of protocols and procedures designed in conjunction with medical and scientific experts to deter the spread of COVID-19. Expect some bars, restaurants, pools and shows to still be temporarily closed during the Las Vegas Mardi Gras due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides lots of physical distancing measures in place at all locations, here are other things to expect when you arrive in Las Vegas.
Dress warm. Las Vegas is a desert and it gets very cold at night, in February
Don't be afraid to sip your favorite drink as you go - alcohol is allowed to be consumed on the streets (along the Vegas Strip and the Fremont Experience - downtown) for this holiday celebration. (Must be 21 yrs or older) - metal and glass containers are banned.
Unlike the French Quarter in New Orleans, flashing for beads in Vegas on Mardi Gras is illegal and guaranteed to land you in jail.
Native New Orleanians believe it's bad luck if you pick up the beads from the floor. In Vegas, we take our chances. Grab that bead off the floor or the guy behind you certainly will.
This Mardi Gras, the LINQ Promenade will transform into the Big Easy and all decked out in purple, green and gold. Join the party on Saturday, Feb 22, 2021 and let the good times roll, from 5 - 8pm.
Saturday, February 22
