Every September 16th weekend, Las Vegas invites visitors from around the world to join the fiesta and celebrate Mexican Independence Day with a lineup of exciting events, latin-infused entertainment, music, food and tons of fun.
Marking Mexico's independence from Spanish rule, the 16 de Septiembre holiday, known in Spanish as "El Grito de Dolores," marks the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence on September 16, 1810.
Vegas loves celebration and the Mexican Independence Day is no exception. September 16 may be the official holiday, marking Mexico's independence but the party starts early in Vegas and last through the weekend. Hotel bars, casinos and pool parties all get into the El Grito festivities with world-class live performances, cuisine and festivities in honor of Mexican Independence Day.
