The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas (AAIW), popularly known as the SEMA Show, is a trade-only industry event that takes place in Las Vegas each year.

Organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), this trade-only event is draws more than 70,000 quality domestic and international buyers each year. Sometimes referred to as the SEMA Car Show 2024, the SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center is the world’s number-one automotive trade event, bringing together manufacturers and buyers in every segment of the automotive industry, from the traditional performance vehicles to street racers, trucks and off-road vehicles, hot rods and classic show cars, to mobile electronics and collision repair. The SEMA Show also provides value to participants through educational seminars, networking events, hands on workshops and more.

The 2022 SEMA Show featured more than 3,000 exhibiting manufacturing companies, 3,000 media representatives and hosted more than 130,000 individuals, representing a 30% growth over 2021. The SEMA Car Show is a trade-only event and not open to consumers or the general public but only to qualified individuals employed within the automotive aftermarket industry.

Who can attend SEMA Show 2024

SEMA Show is a trade-only industry event and not open to consumers or the general public.

Only qualified individuals employed within the automotive aftermarket industry are approved to receive a badge to enter the exhibit hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

You will be required to provide documentation to prove you currently work in the Specialty Equipment Aftermarket industry. (This is required whether you register online or in person at the SEMA Show.)

You or the company you are employed by does not have to be a SEMA member in order for you to attend the SEMA Show

No one under the age of 16 will be allowed access to the exhibits.

If you do not qualify to attend the SEMA Show, you can enjoy SEMA Cruise or attend SEMA Fest, the official SEMA Show after party where SEMA Show vehicles will be featured on Friday and Saturday night upon conclusion of the Show (see details below)

Cash or checks are no longer accepted. Credit cards only for registration fee payment pre-show or onsite. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Attendee badges allow entrance to both APPEX and the SEMA Show all days of each Show.

SEMA Show 2023 Badge Pickup

Buyers from the US who register online on or before Friday, September 29, 2023, will have their badges mailed to them in advance of the Show. International mailing deadline is Friday, September 15, 2023. Domestic attendee badges and International attendee badges will begin mailing in mid-August.

If you register after September 29, 2023, (i.e. you didn't receive your badge in the mail) you must print out and bring your barcode confirmation to Express Registration on-site at the Main Registration in the Lower South Hall East (see floor map below). Upon presenting an official, government-issued photo ID that matches the name in your registration record, your badge will be printed out.

Note: Lost or forgotten badges reprinted onsite will cost you $120 per badge (1x maximum)
Lost or forgotten NEM/Financial Investment Services badges reprinted onsite will cost you $200 (1x maximum)

SEMA OnSite Registration is located in the Lower South Hall East at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

SEMA Education Programs

The SEMA Show offers a wide array of content delivered among the 14 education tracks with 99+ free education sessions, that cover everything from online marketing to customer service, collision repair, tires, industry trends and more.

Reflecting a rapidly changing aftermarket, SEMA Show has greatly revamped its education programs. At the upcoming SEMA Show expect to see expanded educational seminars addressing vehicle electrification and other emerging technologies, and the many new opportunities they are providing the automotive aftermarket industry.

Develop essential skills by not missing this opportunity. There is definitely something for everyone as these courses are designed to provide practical tools, and they are presented by top industry experts. The courses and events will be open only to registered 2023 SEMA Show attendees, exhibitors and media.

SEMA Show is not just a Las Vegas car show but a show where the hottest, newest automotive products debut. With more than 3,000 new and featured products this year, understanding how to work the Show floor is important. Follow the steps below for the fastest and most efficient way to locate and contact the exhibitors who manufacture the products you're interested in.

Step 1: Head on over to the New Products Showcase
The New Products Showcase, located in the North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. See SEMA Show map above.

Tip: The New Products Showcase opens an hour before the Show starts and closes an hour after the Show close. Take advantage of those extra hours.

Step 2: Get one of the FREE Scanners
Use the SEMA Show mobile app's "Product Scanner" feature of find one of the "Free Scanner Pickup" booths located around the New Products Showcase and grab a scanner. Walk around and browse the more than 3,000 products in the showcase. Scan all the products barcode you're interested in.

Step 3: Get a print out of all the products you scanned
Return your scanner to the "Scanner Return" desk to instantly get a print out of all the products you scanned! This print-out will contain key information such as the product's description, image, exhibitor's booth number and how to locate and contact the exhibitors who manufacture the products.

Step 4: Doing the leg walk
Now it's time to track down those exhibiting companies on the show floor and get some face-to-face time to learn more about the products you're interested in. The SEMA Show mobile app makes this step easy by offering directions from one location to another, all at your finger tips or simply pickup the SEMA Show Pocket Guide available at any of the many information kiosks.

Tip: The newest exhibitors can be found at the Racing Annex, Upper South Hall and Performance Pavilion.

SEMA Fest is the official SEMA Show after party, where consumers and anyone who did not qualify to attend the SEMA Show are invited to mingle with the industry.

2023 SEMA Show Battle of the Builders
SEMA Battle of the Builders

The SEMA Battle of the Builders competition involves more than 300 competitors vying for the title of the Ultimate Vehicle Builder. SEMA Battle of the Builders competition also includes an the Young Guns Category for builders under 29 years of age (as of November 3, 2023).

The Selection Process:
Judges walk the SEMA Show floor to review individual builds before selecting the Top 40 finalists in the competition. The Top 40 finalists will be announced on the opening day of the SEMA Show. (Tuesday, October 31 - Time: 1:30 p.m.–1:50 p.m. - Location: SEMA Central)

Ten builds will represent the following categories
Hot Rod & Hot Rod Truck
4 Wheel Drive & Off-Road
Sport Compact, Import Performance, Luxury & Exotic
Young Guns.(27 yrs & under)

The Judging Process

The judges narrow the finalists down to the Top 12, regardless of the category.

The builders of the Top 12 finalists then become the judges, and select from amongst themselves who will be named the SEMA Battle of the Builders Top 4 Finalists and then the Top Builder of the SEMA Battle of the Builders.
